Earlobe Repair

Houston Dermatology Specialists in Cypress, Texas, offers surgical and nonsurgical earlobe repair. Piercings and heavy earrings put your ears at risk for earlobe stretching, which can eventually lead to a torn earlobe. Fortunately, there are multiple options for cosmetic repair.

How does earlobe repair work?

To add support and volume to the earlobe, we use injectable dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM® or Restylane®. If the earlobe has torn or is at risk for tear, we perform a surgical earlobe repair.

Meet Dr. Downing

What is it like to have earlobe repair done?

For a nonsurgical repair, Dr. Downing will use injectable fillers, and the procedure only takes a few minutes. For a surgical repair, a local numbing medication will be used to anesthetize the area, and sutures will be used to repair the earlobe. Sutures are typically left in place for 1 week.

When can I re-pierce my ear after earlobe repair?

Typically after a surgical repair, it is best to wait for 3 to 6 months before re-piercing.

How much does earlobe repair cost?

Earlobe repair is considered cosmetic and is not covered by insurance. During your consultation, Dr. Downing and his team will discuss pricing with you.
